Bee College – typically the dates are around Spring Break time. It is for beginner and expert beekeepers.
OLD BUSINESS:
Treasurers Report: Becky Stated, according to Steven Woolheater (not present): as of June 14, 2012 Association account has a balance of $4,079.69 with no outstanding checks. CD: $1,000 in honor of Lotte Tedman. Read, Seconded, Passed.
Secretaries Report: Previous Meeting Minutes read aloud - Read, Seconded, Passed.
Bee Yard Maintenance: May Update: 6 Loads of 18 yds of shell placed. Road looks good. June update: Road looks good. Bee are back in the yard. David was able to unload the bees. Bees are collecting early blooming black mangrove. Cabbage palm nectar iss beginning. Pepper will be low due to cleared lot at front of park.
Bee Yard: Workday: This will be weather permitting. We will attempt to move the workday out one week if weather becomes an issue.
This month: David will be at Upper Tampa Bay Park. Meet at 9:30 am. Plan on doubling up hives that are in trouble. Prepare for queen in next few months.
Bylaws: April Update: Miles is stepping down and will hand over the information to date to the new Chair, as they are appointed. Steve Hartmann is new Chair. We will need three more people on the committee. There is a requirement to show up for all committee meetings. Steve Price (New Member Tonight), James Crouswell, and Becky Weliczko volunteered. May Update: Steve stated all committee members have old bylaws, information from Miles and copy of his suggestions. June update: Rough draft in hand. Additional changes coming. Plan to have committee meeting next week.
State Convention: January: Gary Ranker stated the State needs a host for end of October 2012 (beginning of November) annual convention event. TBBA has not sponsored event for about 10 years. This takes a budget of about $6k. February: Who pays for cost? State does. Host will organize venue and organize the speakers. Attendance is typically 150-200. Typically starts on a Thursday with a cookout. Friday would be speaker and learning program. Motioned for this discussion to be tabled - seconded and passed. March update: Saturday is a day in the bee yard. This should be similar to our April Seminar. Bert Kelley, Pat Yacso, Jill McEver is willing to be on the committee. Gary Ranker was volunteered by the TBBA members to be the Chair. Motion to sponsor the event. Seconded and Passed.
May Update: Gary suggests the dates of November 1, 2, and 3. Need suggested venue: For the Saturday “a day in the bee yard” and Friday BBQ. Good Hotels are in Oldsmar.

· Venue of Convention: Billy to look into Horse Track land.
· Venue of BBQ
· Decision on Price
· Decision on Speakers, Breaks, Door Prizes, Technical Person, Upper Tampa Bay Park Chairperson, Advertising, Honey show/judging, Registration help, Awards, and Publicity.

· Holiday Inn in Oldsmar, Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, Best Western Bay Harbor Hotel, Country Inn & Suites by Carlson Tampa Airport, and Westin Tampa Bay
June update: Kevin gathered information for Tampa Bay Downs. Pricing is higher than our budget. Still seeking other venues.
State information: June Update: No update. Board of Manager meeting was last month. Per Gary Ranker: Discussed David Westerfelt’s bee management.

April Update: Seminar Page was updated. Seminar payment address was corrected. Jacob had a computer available if anyone would like to see the new site. Member requested a member list be posted. Jacob noted this may be an issue. If you would like to speak with a registered beekeeper, it is public information on the State website. Motion to share the Association password with the Jacob and to Becky. At the moment, we do not have control of which server our website is on. Seconded and Passed.
Member requested various flows and blooms be added to the website.
May Update: Need to add directions to meetings and park. Need to darken background to make it more visible. If you have photos and/or flow information, please forward this to Becky.
June update: Rick stated he is stepping down from being the webmaster. He recommended Jakob. Motioned, Seconded, Passed. Rick to help Jacob move the site to new hosting location.
